Two Hundred Fifteen
I've spent the past hour making this awesome hair piece to wear at my wedding.
1. Cut about 10 circles out of silk organza in various sizes.
2. Run the edges along a flame to give each piece a nice white edge by melting the edge a little bit (be careful to not catch it on fire).
3. Hold each circle a couple edges above the flame to give each circle a bit more structure. The heat will cause the silk to "pucker".
4. Sew through all pieces to hold them together.
5. Sew on fancy button or brooch. (I then reinforced the brooch with hot glue.)
6. Sew on or glue a barrette or a pin to the back so you can wear it in your hair or on a piece of clothing.
7. Have everyone tell you how lovely it is and know that you made it!
attempting THREE different ribbon treatments for the centerpieces. The first is just bleached raffia with twine. The second is an organza bow with brown raffia and the third is a satin ribbon with brown and bleached raffia.
